Autistic Society
The Lincolnshire Autistic Society
Since its inception, the society has actively promoted the provision of care, well-being, education and employment for those who are autistic, their families and those who support them. It has proactively been increasing public awareness and understanding to encourage acceptance and integration within the wider community.
Through working with relevant organisations and statutory bodies the Society has been able to open and maintain channels of communication between those who are Autistic / ASD, their families, education provision and health provision at both local and national levels.
The Society provides information, advice, guidance and support to the public through supporting local groups such as Parents And Autistic Children Together (PAACT). The Lincolnshire Autistic Society is actively working to link the many individual groups around the county, so that they have as much support and as many links as possible.
This is especially important as the geography and demographics of Lincolnshire as a county are unique. For perspective, Lincolnshire is approximately twice the area of Greater London with an eighth of the population; a centralised system simply does not work here.
